Superintendent of Schools / Football Offensive Coordinator

  • West Point Public School was identified as a lowest 5% academic performing schools in the state. After five years, had progress from “Bottom 5%” to “Needs improvement” to “Good” to “Great” as the state identifies academic achievement.

  • Following 10 years of losing records, over the next 6 years became the winningest team in the past 25 years of the school making the playoffs three times.

  • Overall activity success: During six-year tenure at West Point, has matched the previous 18 years with district championships and runner-ups.

As a superintendent, Bill prioritized student learning, leading to accolades such as the “Beating the Odds” award for West Point Elementary School. This recognition highlights the school's ability to outperform expectations regardless of student demographics.

COLLABORATIVE INITIATIVES

Bill initiated a collaborative project with Wisner, Bancroft-Rosalie, and Pender Public Schools to establish a career academy. This endeavor has benefited students and offered a cost-effective solution for taxpayers, showcasing the effectiveness of community engagement and resource-sharing in education.

  • Regional Superintendent of Year (Twice)

  • A school that ranked in the bottom third academically in the state, within six years were ranked in the 12% in Math, ELA, and Science.

  • Ranked 3rd in the state in Growth per student academically.

  • The Football team was the second most losing program in the state. Within four years, qualified for the state playoffs.
